Aims / Goals
Weave partnered with the BioHeritage National Science Challenge to design and develop a large-scale custom website that supports their mission to protect and restore New Zealand’s environment. With complex content structures, hundreds of pages, and a need for future flexibility, this was a project that required deep planning, careful structuring, and a custom CMS built to support long-term growth.
Building a digital home for research, people, and storytelling
BioHeritage needed a website that could house extensive research outputs, team profiles, project updates, resources, and news in a way that was easy to manage and just as easy for visitors to explore. Their previous site was limited in structure and performance and no longer reflected the scale or impact of their work.
Project goals included:
- Designing a new website that makes a large volume of content accessible and engaging
- Improving user experience and site navigation through clear taxonomies and filters
- Making it easy for editors to manage hundreds of pages with a tailored WordPress CMS
- Enabling filtered searches across people, projects, resources, and categories
- Ensuring the site performed well technically and was future-proofed for growth
